CALIFORNIA58 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS — NOVEMBER 6, 2026. In the published election returns for The City of Red Bluff, the No side leads on the City of Red Bluff’s Measure D, which would convert the city clerk and city treasurer from elective offices into positions appointed by the City Council or under a delegated city-manager process. The recorded tally is 922 Yes votes (41.95%) and 1,276 No (58.05%), a difference of 354 votes. These figures are reproduced from the currently available local-measure tally, checked November 6; they have not been independently verified as a newer November 6 canvass release.

What the proposal means

A Yes vote would have allowed the municipality to appoint those officers rather than selecting them at regular city elections. A No vote preserves elected offices under the existing rules. The clerk maintains records and helps administer municipal election processes, while the treasurer’s fiscal duties are defined by applicable city law. The measure requires a simple majority of valid votes, not a two-thirds threshold.

How voters should interpret the count

The reported 2,198 valid Yes/No selections cover this specific ballot question, not the total number of residents registered throughout Tehama County or neighboring areas. Voters may skip individual questions, and school district boundaries often do not follow city boundaries. The current numerical leader does not establish that all eligible mail and provisional ballots have been counted or that a measure has been legally implemented.

Related local elections

Red Bluff voters also selected City Council members, with Kris Deiters, William Ahmad Ellis, Cassandre Pope and Marcella White on the November 3 ballot for three positions. The mayoral election in nearby Corning and Tehama County’s supervisor-salary Measure E are separate ballots and should not be added to the Measure D total.

Counting, sources and certification

The Tehama County Elections Office maintains official candidate and ballot-measure materials and links to the election-results service. The public measure results and description supply the candidate-neutral Yes/No tally and measure text used in this article; the statewide local-measure index offers comparative context. California counties continue their legal canvass before certifying results, and a precinct reporting percentage is not the same as a finished ballot count. Readers should use an election-office timestamp when comparing later reports.

Source note: Tehama County election documents and publicly posted November 2026 local-measure tallies, reviewed November 6. The date is the article’s publication date, not a claim that the county issued new figures today. No endorsement of either ballot choice.
